...loving crop tops

Being a child from the nineties, I am no stranger to the crop top. When I was about 13, I had a blue cropped vest that I wore with a matching blue skirt for an entire summer. As much as I loved that outfit back then, as I grew up I never really expected or wanted to wear crop tops again. So when they started making their appearance again, if I am totally honest I was a little horrified and wrote it off as a trend for the teenagers. A couple of months later I got swept into the trend and ended up buying one. Even though I had bought one I had no intention of baring my midriff, instead wearing it with high waisted skirts and layered over longer shirts. This all changed when I saw two of my favorite bloggers Krystal and Blair wear crop tops and ladylike skirts. They both looked so elegant and it was the total opposite look I would have expected. Although a little late, I am now officially converted. I just have to work on toning my belly.

...wearing a pop of colour

Jumper - H&M,  Dress - ASOS, Shoes - Office, Watch - Tag Heuer, Glasses - Gok Wan

Spring is finally here! According to 'official' sources (Google) spring started on 20th March. But to me, spring starts the day I don't have to wear a coat and that day was Monday. In the colder months my outfits do become more functional rather than fun, getting dressed is all about warmth and my sleeping bag coat.
Once the sun is out, there is nothing I love more than wearing bright colours. To ease myself into spring dressing, I wore a monochrome outfit with a bright pop of yellow. As the weather gets warmer, my outfits will definitely get a lot brighter.
How are you going to dress this spring?

...eating at Burger & Lobster

I love seafood, lobster in particular. In my family lobster is the food associated with celebrations, on Christmas day we eat it, at weddings we eat it, and on Chinese new year we eat it. So it goes without saying that when my sister Bonnie had her graduation ceremony for her marketing diploma we went out for a celebratory dinner at Burger and Lobster. The menu is as simple as their name with a choice of burger, lobster (steamed or grilled) and lobster roll. The great thing about this place is that with such a simple menu, is that all the dishes are cooked well. To keep with family tradition, we all ordered the lobster, but I have heard from friends that the burger and lobster roll is just as good as lobster. The lobster was fresh an juicy, a bit messy but a lot of fun to eat. Each meal is only £20, with a choice to upgrade to a bigger lobster (Did you see that chalkboard? An 11lb 15oz lobster!!) There are four restaurants around London, so what are you waiting for?

...wishing for spring to come

It seems like winter in never ending at the moment. By this time last year, I'm pretty sure we had already had our first mini heatwave. I'm not even sure if the mercury has risen above 10°C yet this year. This has turned my shopping habits a bit Jekyll and Hyde. Some times I am looking coats and at other times, convinced that spring is just round the corner, I am out looking for the perfect sandals. Dressing for warmth does get boring really quickly. So when I saw this skirt in Topshop, I knew it would be perfect to add some brightness to an overcast day like today. Would look great with a Jumper, wool tights and brogues, but would also look great in the summer with simple tee and sandals.

How do you stay stylish and warm in cold weather?

...wearing stripes

Top - Zara,  Jeans - Uniqlo, Snood - H&M, Shoes - Carvela, Bag - Mulberry,
Watch - Gift from my friend Katie, Glasses - Gok Wan

Stripes has to be one of my favorite prints, it's main competition for top spot coming from polka dots and florals. The thing I love about the trio is that they are all timeless and classic. The breton tee first made famous by Coco Chanel in 1917, almost 100 years later they are a wardrobe staple for men and women. This was proved just last sunday morning when my family gathered for breakfast. My mum was already in the kitchen wearing a long sleeve breton tee and I was wearing the outfit above. Then my other siblings made their way downstairs one by one, two out of three wearing various stripy tees. I just love that the classic tee looks good on anyone regardless of gender or age.

How do you like to wear yours?
